Sometimes I am completely amazed at the excuses that people come up with for themselves! It seems sort of like people consistently want to say that they cannot do things rather than they don’t want to do things, which seems entirely backwards to me.
I do not understand why you would make yourself incapable voluntarily.
I assume it’s a form of removing responsibility to take the easy way out. I’ve been seeing a lot of that lately… especially with the people that I task with. A large amount of them are pretty unhealthy & do not try to get back in shape. No matter what time of year it is they have some sort of excuse why it’s the weather’s fault that they are out of decent condition… This time of year everyone is saying that it’s just too warm to step outside & get a workout. In fact, they often say it’s too warm to be outside & do just about anything – let alone get some needed exercise. They seriously insist that if they tried to jog around the block there would be overheating & near-death from the overwhelming heat of the brilliant sun. I dislike telling them that there are all kinds of possibilities besides running around in the direct sunlight. Of course that feels bad. But what about working out in a gym where there is actual A/C? That is an option right? If you cannot enjoy going to the gym but you need the a/c appliance, how about you invest in some home workout videos. Then you can just blast your own a/c appliance as high as you want… You can even blow some fans around to make it feel a great deal cooler & fresher – you are in full control. If none of that sounds great to you then you could do what I do & just go running around in the woods. I swear, the shade is something like natural a/c! No matter what your preference is, you can always find a way to get exercise in the summer time separate from killing yourself in the harsh heat.
